MY BABY'S 3RD BIRTHDAY!

I can't believe my Jaybird is 3 years old. I was telling Dustin that it feels like just the other day we were begging Heavenly Father to send us a baby...and now here he is already 3! Although I don't want my kids getting any bigger, it was a great day and a great party. We started off at the Pizza Factory with lots of friends of family. After enjoying some delicious food, we opened presents and devoured the dinosaur birthday cake. It was better than Christmas. Afterwards, we headed to the city pool for some sliding and swimming. I think everyone had a blast. Jase walked in and shouted, "Mom, this is amazing!" The kid has quite the vocabulary for his age, not to mention a huge supply of "amazing" nouns and adverbs :) He had ants in his pants the whole ride home as he wanted to play with each and every present, which he did pretty quickly the moment he walked through our door. Anyway, can't give everyone who participated enough thanks for coming to the party and making this day the best for my little Jaybird. He already asked when he could have another birthday...you gotta love kids! Stay tuned for more party pictures, including the awesome hydrotube!

DALLEN'S BDAY

On Sunday, Jen and Rog had the family over for Dallen's 9th birthday celebration. It was super fun with good food and a perfect Sunday walk :) Jen is always a fabulous host, and Jase loves going to their house. The pictures above are of the birthday boy opening presents and playing baseball.

Just Rog and my favorite father-in-law enjoying some good ol' sloppy joes!

HOUSE BUILDING CONTINUES

I just wanted to post a few pictures of the house. The basement walls are finished, and they are done with all the interior flatwork. But the exciting part is the FRAMING :) Pretty soon we will actually see the house transform from blueprints to "our house" in 3-D. They framed the bearing walls in the basement and have finished the first floor. I'll post more pictures as the house progresses...but I'm very excited!

SPENCER'S SHOUT OUT!

I know everyone is waiting for more advanced pictures of the house, but like the rest of us, you have to watch the house progress in real time. And since they removed the forms, it was waterproofing time...sticky, black tar coated all over the walls. It doesn't sound like a ton of fun, but we just happen to have a professional waterproofer in the family--SPENCER! So while Dustin watched the boys in our luxurious (climate controlled) trailer, we (Spencer and myself) tackled the small task of waterproofing our small home. It was actually quite fun but really not a small job at all. Of course, the wind was blowing, making the tar drizzle across your shoes and into the person standing down wind. Thus, our clothes were tossed into the dumpster, never to be thought of again. When all was finished, we cleaned our hands with gasoline--YUCK! The job was finished just in time for the boys (Dustin, Spencer, Jeremy) to make it to the Preisthood meeting. We all had ice cream after the meeting, and Spencer was still wearing a few tar drops on his face...So here's my shout out to my wonderful brother-in-law. Thank you for waterproofing my house, for donating your clothes to the building effort, for making sure your quadrants were tarred thick and thorough, for submitting your sexy face to nasty tar drops, and for giving up your Saturday for dirty work. I know how much you would have rather been dating. So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU :)

I'll make it up to you somehow. Maybe right now. For all you single women whose hearts lept from their chest when you saw this handsome helper, I give you his phone number...
