A CAMPING WE WILL GO

Okay, gals, no obnoxious posts about how this should have been on my blog in October. Let's just say I'm "blog lazy." But I couldn't pass up these pictures. There is something about them that simply portray the carefree world of being a child, loving to get dirty, and knowing that mom will clean you all up when you're finished baking mud pies and hunting for lost treasure. Yup, it was good times camping with all the Wild Whitts.

For those of you who do not know, I have two brothers and two sisters in Price, Utah. Yup, I'm pretty much alone in good, ol' Cedar City. So last weekend, Dustin and I along with the boys packed up our clothes for a couple of nights and headed to Helper--Utah's Christmas Town. They didn't disappoint. We enjoyed a fantastic light parade and Breakfast w/ Santa. They also had fireworks at the end of the parade on Saturday night. We watched them from Russell's window while we ate a delicious dinner. It doesn't get better than that! So here's a huge THANK YOU to Melissa, Crystal, Russell, and Nils! We had a blast!

The Christmas Tree

I love Christmas trees. I love the type that look like they can't hold one more ornament. I love the fabulous, stylish, ornate trees that deck the halls of shopping malls, Tai Pan, and Roberts Craft. Unfortunately, I don't have the same talent for putting one of these trees together. And although I have been known to splurge on certain items, I cannot bring myself to spend over a thousand dollars on such a tree.

This year I put up the smaller tree in the boys' playroom. They were ecstatic. They gathered all my candy cane decorations from last year, and went to town hanging as many ornaments as possible on one small tree branch. After taking pics of the finished project, I would have to say I would pay over a thousand dollars for this tree and the cute boys posing by it's side.

So yes, I love Christmas trees, but more imporantly, I love the magic and innocence of Christmas as seen through my children's eyes. Oh, and now I have to buy new tree ornaments. Watch out, Tai Pan!
