We finally signed papers on Thursday, March 13, 2008. It was a very exciting day as our house is now officially under construction. Dustin decided to save us some money and do the excavating. Since that decision, we have had more than our fair share of setbacks. For starters, he hit a gas line. This took hours to fix, but when Questar finished repairing the lines, Dustin had the basement dug in a day. I wish the bad luck ended there, but then we found out we couldn't meet compaction with our dirt. So we ordered 400 ton of road base. Who knew dirt could be so expensive? With all this behind us, Dustin thought he could finish most everything up today...that was until the backhoe died and the rental place said it wouldn't be fixed until Monday. On the bright side of things, we get an Easter vacation! Anyway, I really am grateful for a husband who works so dang hard. It may sound crazy, but this big hole in the ground has been quite exciting. Jase always wants to go to that "dirt place." And when we're looking at the plans, he shows us where his potty and bedroom will be. I just feel so blessed and so lucky so have such a great family and a soon-to-be, beautiful home :)

This week is going to be much better! Hope all goes well with inspection. Your hubby is a great worker--he's a keeper.
I got to see the "dirt place" & it is pretty exciting, for dirt anyways.
