DINNER, ANYONE?

Just a quick blog to debut the newest addition to our home...our dining room table. I'm sure some of you have heard about the infamous story that goes with this table, but let's just say it was worth ALL of the trouble. It looks great in the dining room, and I'm looking forward to many Sunday dinners with my handsome boys. But first we're having a family home evening on manners and how it's not nice to play cars on mom's new table. It should be interesting ;) Oh, and I think the table looks even better with the good looking model posing on the chair.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAYBIRD!

A long time ago, in a land not so far away, a young couple longed for a family. They threw pennies in wishing wells, looked for shooting stars, and begged their Heavenly Father to send them a baby. Time marched on, and the prayers continued, but no child was sent to this family. The couple held on to hope, searching high and low for a way to make their dreams come true; but their search was in vain, and their home was empty. All seemed lost, but the young woman kept a prayer in her heart and a lullaby close to her lips. On April 16, 2005, this young woman sang the very same lullaby to a beautiful baby boy.

Just wanted to wish a very happy birthday to our handsome Jaybird. A day hasn't gone by these past four years without us saying a prayer of gratitude for our little miracle. We love your tasty ears, the freckles that kiss your face, and the smile that melts our heart.
All our love,
Mom & Dad

EASTER PALOOZA

I've always wanted to use the world palooza, and it seemed fitting for our Easter celebration. It was awesome to see the kids wake up with excitement and even better to see my handsome little men driving their new power wheel. I think their Christmas letter was sent to the Easter Bunny by mistake ;) The best part was that Jase and Jaxon would have been satsified with just their candy. That tricky bunny hid their Cruiser behind the couch and under a blanket. They didn't really see it until right before church, but the minute it caught Roni's eye, he was in and out of the pretend car door fifty times...all while screaming "Beep, Beep!" They got to take it for a little spin, and Jase even pushed the gas pedal so Jaxon could drive. Oh, the love they shared on Easter...believe me, it was short lived.
PS--May of my loyal readers may be asking themselves how in the heck I got Roni's hair to stay down. Well, it was an Easter miracle in itself.

DUSTIN COLORING EGGS???

I LOVE my husband. In a world where most men do not have time for their children, Dustin has proven over and over that our children are his world. That's not to say that sometimes their is an internal struggle. You wives know what I am talking about....the sound of a whistle, the screech of new shoes across a shiny wooden floor, and the flashing red light and buzzing sound at the end of a ball possession. Yup, the Jazz game. Call it an amazing coincidence, but the Jazz game happened to be on the same night of Easter egg decorating. Dustin's answer to that internal struggle was to decorate as he watched the game. This made for interesting eggs, but some great family time with a little compromise.

MY NEW SISTA!

The wedding is officially over, and the Whittaker Family has a new member (applause, cheers, and welcoming band heard in the background)! Shelley and Spencer took the plunge on Friday, April 3, 2009. It was a beautiful wedding with delicious food and some seriously fun KARAOKE! Shelley had mentioned that she wasn't having any bridals, and I just couldn't stand for that. I'm no professional, but I took a few shots for her. It's not hard to get a great picture when your subject is gorgeous :)
Fellow bloggers....note that I mentioned this was a favor. If you are need of a seriously awesome photographer, check out Jodi James at jamesfarmgang.blogspot.com. I think she even has her official photography website posted on her blog. (I'd give you my sister's info, but she's retired.)
